A free directory and review site for art galleries, museums, artist studios, art schools and art supply stores across the United States, graded A+ to E by the people who actually went.
Every state, from the big national museums to the one-room gallery on Main Street, all on one map.
Commercial and non-profit galleries: contemporary, fine art, photography, local artists.
Museums of art, from encyclopedic collections to focused university museums.
Design, craft, photography and other museums where the art is the point.
Working studios and open-studio spaces where you can meet the work.
Schools, workshops, pottery and painting studios that teach.
Paint, paper, clay, glass and everything you need to make something.
Community arts centers, councils and creative hubs.
Outdoor collections, sculpture parks and trails.
Every venue gets the Hounds letter grade, the same scale used across the whole Hounds family.
Pick an overall grade, then add detail if you like. Eight optional scores say what you loved (or didn't):
The grade you see is the grade visitors gave. Rankings weigh how many reviews a venue has, so one enthusiastic review can't outrank a hundred.
Reviews cover the work, the space and the welcome. Never the private lives of artists, staff or other visitors.
Many venues forbid photography and photos can capture other visitors, so reviews are written, not photographed.
Pass a short quiz on the house rules to become a certified ArtHounds judge and vote in the Hall of Fame.
Listings come from open data and can be out of date. Flag a bad website link and we'll take it down.
Search by city, ZIP or name, filter by medium, free admission and accessibility, and grade your next visit.
